The castle dates from 1245, one of the oldest in Ayrshire and is situated within a small country estate with scenic views yet just 35 minutes from Glasgow. Original oil paintings, antique furniture, log fires and warm colours makes this a cosy, peaceful retreat for a weekend break or longer. Woodland walks and an abundance of wildlife will delight the visitor.  Accommodation in the West Wing include 5 bedrooms. The largest bedroom, the castle's original dining hall with vaulted ceiling, has a mezzanine and personal sitting room and is illuminated by large windows including coloured glass. Six further rooms are located in this part of the building and the entire West Wing can be leased as a self contained unit by the week or weekend. A chef and transport can be arranged if required. Interesting features include the remains of a secret passageway in the Laird's room and the spacious drawing room flooded with daylight. Guests are welcome to relax in the large drawing room overlooking the garden, meadows and river and there are television and wireless facilities.

Craufurdland is a haven for the sporting contingent with access to "Craufurdland Fisheries" within the estate, stocked with brown and rainbow trout. Shooting parties could be available nearby from November to the end of January and for groups, Clay Pigeon shooting, Archery, Falconry, Axe throwing and bicycle hire can be arranged.  Golf lovers may take advantage of the many golf courses as well as golf tournaments in this vicinity. An equestrian centre and riding school lie a short distance away and hikers and ramblers would find this a good base.Catering consists of locally sourced produce. Dinner can be provided and, depending on the season, picnics by the river can be arranged.

Craufurdland also houses corporate events with catering provided as required.

• Bedrooms include:
• The Mezzanine Suite - Consisting of sitting room with vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows and fireplace.  An iron-work spiral staircase ascends to the bedroom gallery. The en-suite bathroom lies off the sitting room.
• The Old Laird's Room - A large, cosy room approached by a quirky personal staircase to the top of the castle. Features include double aspect windows and the remains of a secret passage which the laird used for access to the room below. The sitting area has a fireplace.
• The King's Room - This east wing bedroom has a famous plaster ceiling that was commissioned for a visit by King Charles l in 1648. It has a bright en-suite bathroom.
• The Blue Room - A bright room overlooking the front lawn with personal dressing room off  the en-suite bathroom.

Tarrifs range from £65 to £135 for single occupancy and £70 to £150 for double occupancy.
The West Wing may be hired in its entirety. Catering can be provided.

Study Days and Conferences:

Craufurdland is an ideal spot for a contemplative study day.  Catering can be provided for lunches and breaks throughout the day.

Conferences held in the West Wing provide an ideal working venue with the opportunity for overnight accommodation.  Take a break for a fishing session on the Loch or a country walk or golf on one of the many fine courses near the castle.

How to Find Us:

Take Junction 7 off the M77, drive through Fenwick villiage. Turn left at Waterslap, continue straight until the castle gates (on two white pillars that show up even in the dark). There is a sign to Craufurdland fisheries on the wall. Travel down the drive, past the privacy zone sign to the castle. Post Code KA3 6BS.
